2012 National Monterey Meet
This was one of those rare picture perfect weather weekends where the sun was out most of the day. Our club president Andrew Romanowski created a luxurious Saturday evening gala dinner event. The evening began with a champagne reception by Domain Chandon. Andrew's orange Murciélago was wrapped in pink this year in support of a cure for Brest cancer. As you entered the main foyer there were several areas to explore. Heavy hors d'oeuvres were served along with a choice several Italian red & white wines during the cocktail hour. There was a silent auction set up in one room with many exciting items including a 2013 NFL Super Bowl package and a Top Gun experience in a fighter jet. Dinner was fabulous with a choice of sea bass or veal shanks. After dinner there were hand rolled cigars and a fireside Glenmorangie scotch tasting featuring their 18 year old single malt.
It was a wonderful weekend although I am sad to say we lost 3 great Lamborghini Club members and friends during the last year. Friday evening, on the Mariposa's patio, some friends of Akbar Hassan raised a toast to him. You can find those pictures here. The two other long time members that passed away were Fred Paroutaid & Monte Patterson. They will all be dearly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families and friends.
